Before your puppy travels, whether by personal pick-up, private delivery, by ground or by air, he or she will have a general health exam prior to departure.  The official Oklahoma state document certifying this exam is called a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection  (usually pink).  This document states that this puppy is free of any deadly diseases and is in a healthy condition for travel and is able to be transported.  Also a Shot & Medical Record (green) is provided by the breeder, which gives history of all shots or medical procedures given to said puppy.  You will find these in a clear plastic sleeve found attached to the side of your shipping crate  please remove this before leaving airport.  You are required to take these two documents to your local vet within 72 hours of arrival, as stated in our Contract Information.  Your veterinarian will review these documents and basically begin where breeder left off.  We use a 100- or 200-size shipping crate for shipping: it depends on both the puppy’s size and on whether we ship more than one puppy to the same owner at the same time.  A reusable fleece bed or shaved newspaper is used for absorbent material and provides puppy with some comfort.  A food and water tray is required for all pets!  The shipping crate may be used on a short-term basis for crate training; generally your puppy will outgrow it within a short period of time.

Private pick up.  We have had several puppy parents, who live outside of our home state of Oklahoma, who don’t feel comfortable having their new puppy fly by itself.  Puppy Parents have the option to fly into either Tulsa International located in Tulsa, Oklahoma or North West Regional Airport located in Bentonville, Arkansas.  Our home location is approximately the same distance from either airport.  If you are flying standby and want to be insured a light booking and less traffic, we would recommend N.W. Regional.  I it is very easy to get into (all the Wal-Mart Executives corporate use this airport).  In some cases, we also have arranged to meet puppy parents at a prearranged time and place somewhere in our regional area.
